    dgalaxy,

I bought the "Lovejoy" couplers from MSC. I found them on pages 3860, 3861. I was connecting a 3/8" shaft to a 1/4" shaft. The part numbers and prices are below (late 2005).
    item # your price
    35407014 $2.19 ea
Product Description: Three Piece Jaw Couplings Type: Three Piece Jaw Coupling Style: Coupling Hub Maximum Bore Diameter: 3/8 Outside Diameter: 1.08 In. Overall Length: 1.72 In. Material: Plastic

    35407097 $1.44 ea
Product Description: BUNA-N SPIDER/L050 HUB L050 JAW SPIDER COUPLING

    35407006 $2.19 ea
Product Description: Three Piece Jaw Couplings Type: Three Piece Jaw Coupling Style: Coupling Hub Maximum Bore Diameter: 1/4 Outside Diameter: 1.08 In. Overall Length: 1.72 In. Material: Plastic

If you search by part number it will get you to the right page. Each coupler requires two sets of jaws and 1 spider. You can mix and match shaft sizes within the same series.

    Good luck,
    Alan

I use McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com) They have almost every thing. Do a search for "couplings" .
