Hi, here's a good one for you - suggestions PLEASE, we are in dire need to get back operational fast.
I have a Fadal VMC 3016 machining center with a Fanuc 18i-MB5 control and a 20-tool dual-arm tool changer. The tool carousel is oriented horizontally, with pockets that move to position and rotate 90deg down to present itself for the arm.
Upon executing M6 TXX, the spindle orients, the carousel rotates to the correct pocket, tool pocket drops down, and the arm starts to rotate (fast!!). About halfway through the rotation, the arm halts, with the spindle still oriented and locked in position, and the tool change process is halted. Error messages that come up are:
No.2013 - Press Cycle Start to Restart tool change
No.2080 - DATC is not at home pos. Cycle start inhibited
No.2072 - Arm not at home position
Hitting reset clears the errors, and releases the spindle orient lock. I use the crank at the top or service mode to bring the tool changer back to home.
The 3 switches for arm at tool change position, arm at home, and arm stop switch when they are supposed to.
According to the builder the tool changer worked at the factory prior to changing the spindle cartridge out (no logic was changed for this, one prox switch was replaced with a different type of prox switch for the drawbar up/down sensor). After delivery, this problem appeared.
We'll try anything at this point...
Thanks
