    Smile bridgeport clone

    BRIDGEPORT CLONE.....
    I AM WONDERING WHICH IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTROL THE TABLE
    HEIGHT IN CNC MODE..I WANT TO PUT A ROLLED BALLSCREW.I HAVE A 1200
    OZ STEPPER MOTOR..HOW DO WE PREVENT THE TABLE GOING DOWN FROM IS OWN WEIGHT..IF POSSIBLE I D'ONT WANT TO PUT A BRAKE..THANKS

    Before you do anything, locate your Caps Lock key and press it one time for us. Thank you.

    Now - on your mill - I don't think what you want to do is possible without a brake unless it is perfectly counterbalanced. There are other options.

    Search 'driving the knee' on this site - you will find this topic discussed numerous times.
