Hitachi Seiki HG400 (1993)

SN HG40018 (has newer Mori Hitech Label on front)

Fanuc 15M/A control with Micon 16 III PLC controller

Problem:
When machine boots up the Micon 16III unit displays:
1120 PC Ladder Sum Check Error
I think all we need is the procedure to clear this alarm. It appears to be a matter of “flushing” some PLC memory buffer.

Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Not familiar with Micon, but have had similar experience with other PLC's and usually means a memory location has changed or a word has become corrupted.
In some cases the location can be identified and re-written, others it usually means re-loading Ladder memory.
You need the program manual for the Micon.

We have Hitachi seiki's with A fanuc control and A few different micon controls. From what I have seen this is bad news. We have had this same problem before. We had to reload the software into the micon system. Talk to Mori and find out if they can tell you the software version and if they have the communication software to load it. We had pieces of laddre missing causing this. I can get you a contact for the micon board for replacement and or repair if you need it.

If, all the menu screens are displayed, including ladder, then, on the write enable switch, and try to write any value in to counter or timer, then try to change the screen. The system auto matically clears the error.

First step find the location for ladder, and then entry to aplication mode, and

I have tow HG400 horizontal machining centers and a HG500.
There's "1120 PC Ladder Sum Check Error" one of the H400 machine.
I have Win YUYU software, but I don't know How to backup(download/upload between machine and compuper).
And there isn't serial port(D-sub connector) on panel, there isn't any combined connect P5,P6,P7 on SPHC board.

Could you send me
1. How to Download & Upload from Micon16-3.
2. Wiring diagram between P5(flat 10pin) to D-sub connectors.

I am not sure about the “PC” sum check error but for the “LD” sum check error this is what has to be done. It may or may not work.

1. Press FR/BK -> Press F4(SYSTEM) -> Select 6.PROGRAMABL CONTROLLER -> Press INPUT
-> Select 18.PROGRAM -> Press INPUT

2. You will see WRITE ENABLE SWITCH ON !! -> Turn on write enable switch on LSPC.
3. Press F4(STORE) -> Press INPUT
4. Press RETURN
5. You will see WRITE ENABLE SWITCH OFF !! -> Turn off write enable switch on LSPC.
6. Turn off NC power -> Turn on NC parameter.

If LSPC still same alarm happened, it need load ladder. Refer to How to load PC ladder software.

I cleared sum check error.
But I have a small problem that Screen disply Japanese.
I think display language controls by PARAMETER.
Do you know Witch bit is English display?
or Could you send me PAMAMETER list if you have English display?

I know there is a parameter that needs to be changed to change to English. I have all of the manuals packed and in boxes somewhere. It will take me some time to dig them out.

You don't have a parameter manual for this control? I will try to locate the parameter for you unless someone here finds it first.

Dear Sir - If u have a back up of the machine load this with the help of numerical keys as menu is unknow after loading it will come in English if ur back up is taken in English mode.Regards.

Hi,

To Troubleshoot the PC Sum Check error, what you have to do is just go in to the Program of the PLC Ladder and then click "Save" usually it will clear this alarm and the PLC will run normal..Rgds. Didik.

Does anyone have a DOS ladder logic? Our maintenance guy tried WIN YUYU and it would not load.
