Feedrate probs w/mach2/3 and retro BOSS

I finally have my BP Boss running off Mach 3 with the original steppers and drivers. I seem to be having problems with mach though on any screen but the diagnostics screen. When I am on the diagnostics screen I can feed up to 120 ipm and jog all 3 axis at the same time smoothly. On any other screen, i.e. MDI, I can only feed in one direction around 85 ipm (and not very smooth) and forget feeding more than one axis at a time. I can only get maybe 40 ipm jogging x and y at the same time.

BTW, I am running with MAX CL enabled in order to utilize the existing drivers.
I have the same problems running both Mach 2 and 3.

You're using MaxNC drives? Max CL mode is for MaxNC systems only. If your drives are step and direction, don't use it.

My drives are not step/direction, they driven off the same signal as the MaxNC drives.

Seems very odd, If I run anything from the diagnostics screen, MDI or load a file, it works great. Soon as I switch to any other screen it freaks out. Gonna try a different computer tonight, see what happens.

    I'm haveing a similar problem with Mach2...

I installed the newest version and it is now giveing me 11 IPM. It used to be 14. Yes I know these are really low feeds, but thats what I get for useing a Harbor freight mill. I am useing 9.6-1 gearing just so I can move the table with 512 PPR encoders. I also had to dissasemble the drives to troubleshoot and found out later that this could demagnetize them and may result in less torque. It does BTW. I did salvage the drive though.

    Mach2 is @ 45000Hz
