    Hi,

I do not know the English term (my mother language is Romanian), but for sure you have seen a toy for kids, which is like a spring (spiral), made from some kind of plastics. The kids are playing with it keeping in each hand an end and moving its circles from one hand to another, and back again. I will try to find out the English term used for. You can use this, but you must put over a cylindrical cover made from fabric which is sewn along of, and connect with this "spring".

I believe you're referring to the classic "Slinky!"

What about using flexible air duct hose. It's usually made out of white plastic and compresses well.

Well I believe if you come up with a drawing you have Gortite or one of the otherbellows makers build one for you. That of course isn't what you asked for

You might try searching the net for view camera makers or repaires. These guys often build bellows from scratch. You of cours would have to adapt things a bit and relaize that hey are looking for light tite bellows not something that holds up to machining. I actually ran across such a site years ago but have no linky today.

I have made one for the Maho mill some Years ago and still good!

I purchased some heavy material in a fabric store similar to original, I think it's
some kind of upholstering stuff [reinforced]
I was able to cut it out as the old one, [made a pattern first] then my wife sewn it together.

Wives are handy, but not cost effective. Better off sewing your own bellows

Getting a wife is easy. One that can actually sew is much harder.....
    If it works.....Don't fix it!
