Tormach 770 doing it's first continuous 4th axis cut

    Hi All,

It's taken me a while to get up the nerve to try this, but here's a video of my Tormach doing it's very first continuous 4th axis cut.

I'm pretty excited because it worked perfect the first time. The part it is making is a 3d rosette for the ornamental woodturning lathe that I make called a Rose Engine. This first run has a little chatter going on, but it was because I was only cutting at 10 ipm. I upped this to 30 IPM with a .5 DOC and it cuts great and smooth with no chatter.

And yes, the standard 4th axis is on the right side of my table. <grin>
