I'm looking to replacing the current spindle on my cnc router with one of the 1.5kw chinese spindles+VFD.
My wish list is:
- 1.5kw
- Air Cooled
- ER16 collet
- 110V

The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to find a spindle that checks all those boxes. Everything I've seen on fleabay has 3 of the 4 requirements.
For example, I can find 1.5Kw, Air Cooled, ER16, but 220V. Or, 1.5Kw, ER16, 110V but only water cooled. OR 1.5Kw, Air Cooled, 110V but only ER11.

Does anyone know of a spindle that meets those requirements?

As a backup plan I was thinking of alterior routes I could take (any input on the thoughts below is appreciated).
- I could get a 110v to 220V step-up transformer, and go with a 220v system,
- I could get a 220v spindle, and drive it with a 110v VFD (What implications does this have?)
- I imagine the spindle shaft diameter is the same on all the 1.5kw spindles. Could I but a setup with an ER11 collet and replace it with an ER16? Where does one get just an ER16 collet holder?
- Or I could break down and go with a watercooling solution (as much as I don't want to do that)

What are your thoughs?

There should be VFDs that can take 110v and output the 3ph 220 the spindle needs, for that spindle size I think they still make them. But, that's from memory of other threads.

Checked eBay, no problem. Not sure if you need to upsize it like if using 1ph 220, as all 110v would be 1ph, but I'd use a 2.2kw VFD to be safe.

Most of the 2.2 kW spindles I've seen on eBay have ER20 collets, but then I'm just getting into all this CNC fun stuff and haven't seen all there is to offer.
