    Out of memory error

Looking for some help with tool path generation for V22.

I created to profiles of some radiused mouldings that I am working on and need to get done asap. The profiles are the same, but one is a full arch and one was just a portion. The first one created the tool path and ran flawlessly. When I went to create the tool path for the second piece (the larger one) the computer crashed. I have tried different geometry selections and tool path options and everyone is making the computer crash. I am getting an "out of memory error" then a "memory leak error". A fried told me they had the same problem and had to update the computers with more memory. I just wanted to check before I went out and spent any extra money.

The system I am running now is: Dell Desktop; Pentium 4 2.8Ghz; 1G Ram

Could adding some memory be that easy to solve this problem.

    Hi
I don’t Know If this will Help but worth a try
Go to Control Panel Click on Performance & Maintenance,> System,> Advanced,> Performance Look for Settings,> Advanced,> Look for Virtual Memory, Click On ( Change ) Then Change Initial Size and Maximum Size to 4095 or the max it will let you set it to then click on set.

Using any of the 3D machining features on large parts is going to gobble up mem while computing the path.

If this is the case, you could try drastically increasing your stepover amount just to compute the path. If it computes, then that rules out bad geometry.

Then recompute after decreasing stepover amount.

Check where your tolerance is set, maybe you could just bump that up.
(CAM Part > Rt. click Mill. Tools > Current Settings > Machine Param.)
Although you may see a difference when compared to your first part.

    Good luck,

I was having the same issue with a file one time. I found that I needed to program a few paths in one file. Then a few more in another file. Then edit so it was one tape file in the end. Also I was getting an error message of out of virtual memory.. I was running a 128 card and upgraded to a 512 card. I have not had a memory issue sence changing card
