I have been reading through some threads and would like to verify that this is correct. My driver needs 12 to 24V DC to operate 2A per axis with 2.5A max. My steppers only need 3.6V to operate. I am planning on rewiring an ATX PSU from a computer with the 12V to supply the appropriate power. Will this damage my steppers since it has to be 12V??

a pc power supply won't cut it
a stepper motor run with such minimal voltage will be slow and painful
i noticed it is rated at 35volt max. use a 35volt supply. no joke.
and your motors are 2a each make sure its a good 200-250watt power supply
you don't need a switch mode or regulated supply
just go for a torriodial type with a simple full bridge rectification

That is actually easier then. I just wanted to reassure that I was not going to have an issue with the steppers being rated at 3.6V and the driver at 12 to 24 V. I will hash up a 24V supply then.
