    Nesting

    Les,
I tried nesting a part with the duplicate command that has 3 operations; 2 drilling and one milling. The resulting program made three tool changes for each piece in the array. How do you set it up to write only 3 tool changes for the entire job?

That is a feature that will be added in the near future. I have to admit it is pretty irritating to have to keep changing tools like that.

Yep, each tool operation has it's own layer. Apparently the operations are 'bundled' to each duplicate.

I did find an alternative solution to the problem. I copied the part into an array in the CAD program and then brought the drawing into SheetCam. Only three tool changes! Intersting how the operations start in the middle of the array as opposed to the closest part to X and Y zero.

If you are using the development version of SheetCam you can set the start point in the cut path tab. You can also set various options to shorten the amount of time spent moving between cuts.
