    Myford 280 Lathe

I am thinking of buying a myford 280 lathe from a friend of a friend and wondered if anyone had any experience with this model?
It is in remarkable condition for the age, and comes with so many extras.
I am thinking of making of converting it to 230V single phase and making it CNC later on.
ALso it is only costing me £350
