    Dynetics Servo and Encoder

I recently purchased a small little techno CNC lathe, minus the electronics but still had the servos and encoders.
My question is I'm adding the electronics, bob, vfd, power supplies etc. I'm unsure of how I would hook up the encoder to my CNC4PC bob,
it has 8 wires coming from the encoder. I've built a handful of stepper motor machines, but this is my first time using servos and encoders.
I looked at my haas mill and it's set up, but really told me nothing. Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Blake

    Re: Techno CNC Lathe encoder

It could be the Option 4 encoder has 8 wires.

The Z or marker pulses may not be used in a Gecko, if not just leave disconnected.
Also IIRC Gecko only use single ended encoder, so you would also leave the /A and /B unconnected.

Do you have a schematic of the encoder and Bob? Model number? The encoder is probably a b and z and there compliments, power and ground.

    Blakea1790,

I just found this thread. It was in a weird spot, sorry I didn't find it sooner.

    Bhurts is right, it's A, B, Z, A', B', and Z', along with power and GND.

It is likely the Danaher M15

Series M15 For Stepper & Small Servo Motors – Dynapar – Encoders for Motion Control Applications

There is a datasheet on there.

Look closely to compare, as if it is not that encoder, you may damage it by improper hookup. If you send me some more pics, I should be able to tell.
