    alarms

    I'm running a fadal cnc 88hs vmc 4020 the manuals I have are about useless. I'm getting a error #17 alarm, resolver fault or motor over temperature, I cleaned out fan and motor on top of spindle, just not sure where to trouble shoot, so any advice is welcome.

    This is not a spindle motor related error message. Error #17 is a servo feed back error message. It is a bad reading on the resolver port. This could be either a resolver, a resolver cable or a 1010 controller card issue.
