hitachi seiki ht20 with fanuc 10tf need help

Hi , Im new to CNC, i just bought a 1986 hitachi seiki ht20 lathe with a fanuc 10tf controller, I have overtravelled with the z axis and i reset the clutch, but i dont think its right because the red light near the clutch is on and i get ps 200 alarm message, and when i zero return the numbers read 300.00mm plus and it doesnt return, the x axis is fine. could i have turned the screw too much, how do i re zero the machine? Im also looking for good cnc programming books, im located in perth Western australia,

    Thankyou,

    Michael.

On the 10, you can disable the soft limits on power-up by holding - and . at the same time, then press power-on. You should see an IPL menu. Key in 4, then INPUT. You should see something to the effect of "Check soft OT at power on?" Press N (for no), then INPUT. Press 6 to end the IPL. The control should boot up, and if you look at the position page, the MACHINE positions should now read 0. Try your zero return routine.
