    custom springy shim washers

    Hi folks,
I have a little project and need some advise.
Basically what I'm making here are tiny shim stacks.
The type of material needed is the flexible stuff feeler gauges are made out of.
That's the first problem. What type of bendy stuff should I be going for.
(typical shim washer is going to be something like, id 3mm, od around 8mm and 0.05mm thickness)
The important thing is that they are flat and have no burr.
Acid etching seemed like a good idea but the price goes up too much to get them done without tabs on.
Does stamping ruin the flatness and leave a burr?
    Thanks
    Zogg

This part is 4 times thicker, and the OD is only 6.35mm. There is one closer to your size, but it is .019" thick.

Just wanted to make sure you looked here.

    Cheers!

in the end I went for getting these things etched. as it turned out, they over cooked it in the acid and the tabs got dissolved. so that turned out good.
However, my calculations were a bit off and am now looking to get them made from plastic shim.

    thanks for your help spoiledbrat
