i have a Shibaura VMC4 by Toshiba circa 1983 and it has blown Transistors (2SD646A) on the spindle drive. i have looked all over for them or the equivalents.

If you get stuck you may want to look in the Motorola range of types MJ or MJH there is a source in the UK http://www.dialelec.com/index.html
It seems that they may be high voltage NPN darlingtons TO3?, if you do not need the high voltage look at something lower like MJ11030 etc.

2SD is a Japanese transistor. Use to be, you could get them from MCM in Dayton.
