    PLC programs?

I know this site is more related to CNC than automation/control but since Im a member here I figured it might not be a bad place to ask about PLC's too.

Do any of you know of a hobby version of a ladder logic type program for programming PLC's? The version the high school I went to uses is around $500 or so - too expensive for me.

    Any ideas?

As you may know, PLC software is Manufacturer specific, and most charge for the s/w, many who want to get in cheap use Automation Direct http://www.aboutplcs.com/directlogic/software/
I haven't used their product but apparently its a low cost way to get in to PLC.
