    Slot machining in bar

I have a job that requires a .265" slot 1.10" deep in the end of a 1" 1018 bar with a square bottom of the slot. I am thinking a slotting saw would be the best choice for this operation. I have never used a slotting saw before and I am hoping to get some recommendations from those of you with more experience on what is the right tooling and what feed/speed i can run it at. I will be running it in a bed mill with a centroid control.
    Thanks
    Dave

    How many...
If just one, then milling with a slot drill...if you have allot, then a staggered tooth milling cutter full depth should work fine in about 1/10 of the time.

50 pcs at a time with the possibility of a job repeat every couple months.
