    Good reference for novice machinist?

I haven't done any milling since high school but now I have a milling machine in my garage and want to get into the home machining hobby. Can anybody recommend a good book to serve as a resource for beginners with some good basic information?

    Thanks!

    best reference out there imo

get both volumes, its really one book in two parts

i also always recommend grade 11 or 12 high school machine shops texts. stuff is presented so that newbie kids can understand it - that means guys like us in the garage 'll at least have a fighting chance!
