I'm a member of a hackerspace and we recently got an LC6090 (From G.weike I believe -- it was donated to us) and once we got the software installed we attempted to cut a simple drawing from LaserCut 5.3. No joy: DLL version doesn't match for some reason, so we follow the Leetro documentation to attempt to update the firmware. Nothing changes, so we swap out the DLLs and it talks. As we look around the settings and poke "obvious" buttons, the laser goes "Z DATUM" and raises the Z platform; Scrambles are had and power is killed when the Z platform raises about 1cm above the lower bed and loud sounds are made from the machine.

We lowered the Z axis manually. Upon startup, a gentle *thud* can be heard from within the machine.

Suggestions?
