I want to build automatic tool changer for my engraver machine.

Are there any ready project?

I dont want to use pneumatic systems. Is it possible?

I've seen a build your own project written up. Its in Home Shop Machinist Magazine's "Projects" book series, I think. Seen adertized on Ebay a couple time also.

The tools are held in a large spoked wheel - rotate it to desired tool.

You could build anything without pneumatic parts. It will just cost you a lot more.

Have you seen this one?
It is pneumatic but thought it may give you some ideas or possibly be adapted to your own machine using solenoids or stepper motor driven screw.
