(I'm new) A little Help please. 18mm finished birch plywood

This is the router I have Welcome to the Vortech Routers 4X8 Router Page

It has a 6hp spindle motor

I am needing to cut 18mm finished birch plywood. I normally cut with cheap bits with 4 passes. Now it looks like I am going to need to make things a lot faster and cleaner.

Could I cut threw it in 1 pass with. Onsrud Max Life Compression Spiral (3/8 Cut, 1–1/8 Single Flute) 15,000 RPM at 150ipm?

    Or am I completely off?

I have not actually bought any bits. I'm just trying to figure out what my best setup would be.

From reading around everyone seams very nice and helpful here. So I figure this is a great place to ask.

Thanks in advance for the help. I'll be looking forward to a response.

    150ipm is much too slow.
Exactly what type of plywood is it? I cut standard birch plywood at about 17,000 rpm and 700ipm. If it's a harder plywood like baltic birch, I'd back off to around 400ipm.

If you go too slow, especially with plywood, you'll get a lot of buildup on the tool which will quickly dull the bit. You can go with a standard non coated compression bit, but with the proper feedrate, the max life bits can last quite a bit longer. If you have them sharpened, though, you lose the coating that gives the extra life.
