    Sinumerik 810M GA 1 - memory expansion

    Hello,

I purchased a Chiron and doesn't have enough space for programs.

    Chiron details:
    FZ12W 107-71 ,
    Sinumerik 810M GA 1, 6FC3471-1AA-Z

I want a solution for memory expansion or if possible a communication program Sinumerik PC in real time.

    Thank you.

Do you mean there is not enough memory for "A" program or "All" of your programs? I have an 810T and had a similar issue with not having enough memory even after clearing programs. It turns out that the memory that is cleared is not necessarily available to be used again until reorganized.

Below is a page from my manual and it worked fine for me.

    Hy,

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my late reply.

I've already done what you said. The problem is that the program storage capacity is too small 15000 and I need it to be somewhere around 300000 - 500000. The programs we use are quite large.

    Thank you.

You did not say, but you must have that control on a mill, as you would never need that much memory on a lathe.

I think you are out of luck with that old control.

I'm not sure that I understand what you want to say with "you must have that control on a mill"?

What I meant was that lathe programs aren't very large. Mill programs are much longer/larger because of what they do, using small segments and moves etc.

What is the control on then?

My 810T is on a lathe. I have only about 7500 charterers in mine and with 10 programs saved in there, I still have 2/3rds of my memory open.

Mike do you write and imput your machining programs manual or are generated by CAD-CAM software? I write and imput machining programs manual. A program has 200000 charterers so it cannot be generated by CAD-CAM software.

Hope yor understand what I'm trying to say.

    Thank you.

I do both, hand and CadCam. You still have not said what type of machine you have. How is it possible that your CAD system can't write that large of a program? I do know that there is no way I would stand in front of my 810T and input a 200000 character long program, it would be nearly impossible to do.

    Hy Mike,
I have a CHIRON FZ12W Vertical Machining Centre. Can you tell me what software do you use?

Re: Sinumerik 810M GA 1 - memory expansion

    Hi,

I have the same machine (and software) and also VERY interested if someone can/will give an answer to the question, how do I get more memory space?
I found out at the time the machine was sold there was an option 48K available (and there is an option 32K ram module in the GA1 installation book from siemens) but that doesn't seem to be available anymore (not even on Ebay)
The number for this module should be 6FX-1123-0BL...
I hope someone can give an answer to this question, and reorganising the memory doesn't help me (I have 12375 free space)
