5.2.2. The tuning is very much motor/machine/encoder dependant. There is no universal procedure. Before you start to tune drive you should mechanically disconnect motor from the machine and you should have the E-stop switch very close to your hand. An incorrectly tuned drive can violently oscillate which can do mechanical damage to the machine/motor or overheat the drive. It is also a good idea to start the tuning at a lower voltage (if you can drop down the voltage) to familiarize yourself with tuning. There is much less mechanical/electrical energy.
I have Panasonic servos displaying the aforementioned oscillatory characteristics at rest; I am curious what PC based software if any can be used to tune/correct these deficiencies?(chair)
