Does anyone have or know of plans for a home built barfeeder for a CNC lathe? I have a YAM CK-1 Chucker.
Thanks,
Scott

taking up an old thread here....
i am also thinking about this,
what i was thinking about was a pneumatic cylinder that pushes the bar,
and use the turret to stop the movement in correct position.
i could use a thrust bearing on the cylinder and make it push all the time,
then maybe a long spring may do the job as well.
but the best would be to use a solenoid activated by M-code,
does anybody know if that's possible?
can i get a signal anywhere activated by an M-code?
Have a look in this Thread; I posted a couple of long descriptions with some pictures.

Also this Thread about the user M functions, and the Thread I link from this one.

EDIT: The details about the user M are for Haas of course but the principles are the same on most machines.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
