    solidcam 64 bits

    somebody knows if solidcam works in windows vista 64 bits ? and which serious release ?

    at this point no it dosnt work in 64bit but they have been telling me for months that is coming out next week so down grade to 32 bit and you will be fine, but dont worry a 64 bit version will be out next week.

    I'd wait until the 64 software has gone through it's teething pains, as it's also the OS that it needs to be happy with. I'd wait a year or so before jumping in...the jury is still out on Vista. I'll stick with XP pro and SC 11.2 32 bit for now, as it's working.

    The jury in in, Vista totally blows. It's absolute garbage.

    64 bit CPU/OS/software only gives you more address space for more memory. From what I've seen CAM software is all about CPU, not memory. I see very little memory usage (and I have a bunch on this machine).

    Neither SolidCAM and Mastercam are muti-core enabled. They will use 100% of one core, period. So half my CPU is idle all the time.
