Unfortunately, this is not really good for troubleshooting. It would make sense if it would say which input / limit pin etc. was activated.

Yes indeed. Finding which input trigger an estop can be quiet painfull and in most cases results in disconnecting everything to find the offending input. Would be great to habe a output that tells which action triggered the error
Something like:
Estop triggered by axis error pin
Or
Estop triggered by input 1
Or
Estop triggered by mpg Button
