Smile Manual conversion of plasma table to router table

    Hello -

Yes it can be done, but a few alteration are necessary depending on the machine you own or have built. I had an old Torchmate table, but not enough money for a plasma torch, so I bought a relative a router for their birthday (smile), and I borrowed it to cut different shapes out of plywood. In order to do this it was necessary to get a plunge router because the table did not have a z-axis on it. The other alteration required setting the software up a little differently, so it would stop at the end of each tool path (so I could lift the routher manually). I also had to add a cam roller to support the additional weight of the router (plasma torch handles are light in comparison to a router). When I get a little more time and money, I would like to add the third axis, but that is in the future. Have a good day.
