Dear friends
I have a problem my laser cutting machine makes a wave in a corner at the time of cutting.
This problem is even more when the speed is increased and cuts are small.

Check the backlash in your X and Y axis drives.
Hello Miz
First of all thanks for your soon response.
How and where Can I check that?
Please help me.
Thank you in advance.
Your machine has a gantry, can you move it by hand, when you do, can you feel a slight knock when you start/stop.
Then try the same when moving the head on the gantry.
When you identify where the play you need to adjust your machine, if you have no play, then we need to look for another cause.
What is the machine, how do the axis move, has the problem suddenly appeared?
If the photo were taken equal to how it was cut (x is right left) and (y is up down) then it appears the cut direction was counterclockwise. so whenever it changed direction from x to y the wave showed up. So lower right moves left then proceeds up and you get the wave. go from upper left move right and turn down you get the wave.
That means the x axis is acting like a spring or rubber band.
So there is something is loose in the pulley to the stepper or pulley to the belt or the belt is sagging and whipping. You probably need to tighten everything up.
The only other thing could be mirrors are moving. Probably the mirror above the lens. meaning the mirror mount is swaying when it stops abruptly. Just tighten stuff up.
if all fails to correct, changing speeds might reduce but not eliminate it.
Some machines are poor quality and replacing components is the only answer. Good luck
Hello Dean
Thanks for your soon response.
It could be when we had to changed the belt because it broked when we tried to put it again, after we changed the slider.
We repared it but could it cause the problem? How can I adjust the belt? It is difficult to put it in the right place.
Can it adjust with the stepper motor?
What do you suggest?
Thanks for your response in advance.
Hello Miz
The problem could started when we repaired the belt because it broke when we tried to put in again after changed the slider.
If I buy a new belt How can I put it right because it was difficult to put it in the right place and it was the main cause for it to break because it could not be adjusted in the slider.
Can the belt adjust with stepper motor?
Thanks for your response in advance
The only way to tighten the belt is to spread pulleys apart or pull the belt down using an idler pulley. It should be stretched reasonably tight but not so tight that the belt no longer tracks properly on the pulley. The belt can't ride up the side of the pulley.
