Cincinnati DART - what do you think?

I've found a Cincinnati Dart VMC, 1998 fo sale which I'm interested in, but upon viewing today I noticed quite a noise from the spindle (running at 1500rpm). The machine was running a simple programme in thin air, couldn't see it cutting metal. The axis seem all smooth and ok, and the machine generally seems ok, but am a little worried about the spindle noise. It wasn't noticably vibrating, or knocking, but definitely whirring away louder than I would expect a CNC spindle to do so.

I took some video footage of it running. The Fanuc controller is saying that it has done 12000 hours of run time. Is this excessive? Are these machines good for these sort of hours? How long is a piece of string? Anybody fancy looking at my fascinating video and help diagnose the sound?

Sorry, I know it can be a bit tiresome reading posts about 'I saw this machine for sale but...etc etc' Hope you don't mind.

    Thanks guys & cheers,

    Al
