    4 and 5 axis questions

Just wanted to gather some data about the needs and wants in a 5 axis system. We know there are many machine specific things needed in 4 and 5 axis machining and would like some specifics if anyone would like to provide them.

    Examples:

    Canned cycles
    Special coordinate outputs
    Feed rate formulas
    Head unwinding

Any sort of special functionality that might be needed other than tool path and XYZ AB or UV coordinate output.

Any input would be much appreciated.

For me being sure that the UCS system was integrated into the 3d 4th axis toolpaths would help for more complex situations...

So I may want to try and cut this:

Getting the horn area integrated into the cut will require some specific hoops to be jumped through with regard to setup and stock rotation. The UCS would go along way here.

    Hi sowen,
After re-reading your original post, I see it is asking for something other than what I posted, but still wanted to get these input in...

Another would be looking to have "BobArt" Recognize a 3d model for texturing with bitmaps.. So if some type of projection could work on the 3d surface data to place bitmaps to texture the surface. I guess this is more determined if BOBART can leave the 2.5 d area and enter the 3d.

    Bobart feature request.

Good Idea , I will put in a feature request with development for that. If you have other wants or needs we've added a place for customers to request new features and functionality...

The more requests we see the better.
These are looked at and discussed daily here.

Thank you for the input , it is appreciated.
