Sign making with K2CNC and VCarve Pro

This is an oak sign I recently made for a rock band in the Seattle area. I started out with a bumper sticker of the band's logo. Next I created the sign design and the CNC code with VCarve Pro. Then I cut the sign on my K2CNC router using Mach3. The band members say, "it's a work of art!"

    Very nice work!

I've used the Ole' bumper sticker trick, a few times myself.

Your sign really does look good.

Thank you Switcher. The Ole' bumper sticker trick was not as easy as I thought. The bumper sticker artwork used "distressed" letters as you can see in the pic. This did not tranfer well at all in the VCarve software. What I ended up doing was to greatly simplify the geometery for each letter using VCarve while still maintaining the style and intent of the artwork. I think the result was well worth the effort.

    Mike,

Another trick I use sometimes, when I have an image that isn't that great on quality.

Go to www.vectormagic.com , upload your image, follow all the steps, when you are done they will give you the clean image free (bottom left hand side of the screen .png).

Then take your clean image into Vcarve Pro.

(credit goes to dertsap, for pointing me toward vector magic)

    Tony,

If you read this, that software on www.vectormagic.com, would make a great feature for Vcarve Pro.
