    Dump circuit?

    Hi,
Just ordered my HobbyCNC board and am getting the supporting components rounded up.
I would like to run the board at 42+volts (45ish) so am considering using a dump circuit to protect the drives.
My steppers are 5.4v at 1.5a is why I wanted to run the volts as high as possible.
Has anyone used a dump circuit with the HobbyCNC board?

    Thanks
    James

    Jim,
Keep the volts below 40 for good results. That last few volts really won't make any difference in speed.

    Voltage reduction

I'm I rookie, & in the process of collecting parts for my machine including a commercial 48V PSU + I've pretty much decided to use the Hobbycnc board. So here is my rookie question (proably the first of many)
Following your comments about keeping the voltage under 40, how can I "adjust" the voltage downward? I can solder & have a basic understanding of components if that helps.

    Thanks
