    Tree 250 Power requirements

Last year I purchased a Tree 250 CNC mill. I hired an electrician to get it all wired in to my rotary phase converter and the main power. He hooked it up to a 30amp breaker. Do to changing circumstances I was never able to get the machine running at that location and I'm moving it home to run in my home shop. As I'm wiring everything in it seems like I need a 50amp breaker to power the 3hp motor on start up.

    Is this correct?

If the breaker has 30 amp stamped on it you have 60 amps total, 30 per side. depending on the phase converter it should be just fine.

Thanks! That makes sense. It also helps for the other wiring I need to do.
