    different peck cycles?

I've always used G83 type peck cycles where the drill returns to the R plain after every increment.
    ie-
    G83 G98 X0 Y0 Z-1.5 Q0.1 R0.1 F10
This would of course drill .1" then pull all the way out, then .1" deeper and pull all the way out etc etc....

What I want to do is drill .1" then pull up just a tiny to break the chip, then .1" deeper and up a tiny etc etc....

This is on a Daewoo with Fanuc 0M if it matters.

Try G73 if you have it.

My machine uses G83 to pull all the way out and G79 to retract only .020".

Also there are other deep/peck drilling cycles available on many controls, usually as an option.

Yup use the G73 you should have it, Then in the parameters (I think its somewhere around 5130 if not it is easy enough to find it will be listed a G73 Cycle, Anyway in the parameters yiou can set the depth of cut and amount of chip break(pull back)

Don't know about your machine. The controls I am familiar with use a G87.
