    3kw spindle miling aluminium?

Hi guys, i am from Brazil,

i want to buy a chinese 3kw spindle motor water cooled(24000rpm).

    So i have some questions...

    Can i milling aluminium easy?
i have a spindle with 600watts and 30000 rpm in my machine (homemade spindle-bosch)
i have some problems with finishiments, the aluminium fininsh is not shining...
I think 600 watts is to weak to machine aluminium , i can reard rpm dowing...
Now i can run feed rate 500mm/min and 1mm passes (end mill 6mm-4 theet) using 50% of end mill diameter...
and i would like to upgrade my milling machine and have a better finish

So, do you guys have some experiences on aluminium??
what you think about this chinese spindle??

what feed rate you guys use on alumnium with 3kw spindle...

Thanks so much and sorry about my english

You need spindle run-out to be as small as possible for shining finish. For instance, Okuma spindles have < 1µm radial and axial run-outs typical. That's static. You need also to see if spindle unit is self-centering designed. Dynamic run-out will grow if not.
Revolution speed is correct for aluminum.

    Hello staff,

My machine has a strong construction.

now I have my machine in a spindle of 3 kW and 24000 rpm

I am with some doubts about vibration

I only work with aluminum, in my last job I used a 12mm end mill and two fluts.

I used passes with depth of 1 mm in 600mm/min.

    I use cutting fluid

vibrates a lot, and some parts shine and others do not.

I read somewhere that little load on the tool makes it vibrate. right?

the z-axis motor is engaged directly in the thread for a piece of aluminum.

A flexible coupling helps to reduce vibration?

What can I do to reduce vibration and improve the finish?

    thanks
