    G85 for Boring Cycles?

I was reading in my manaul today that I should use G85 for a canned boring cycle. I have a leadwell LTC-15 with a fanuc O-T controller. As I read on it said at the bottom of the hole there will be no spindle rotation. If Im not mistaken, shouldn't it still be spinning at the bottom of the hole? Besides that, I just wanted to make sure I was using the right code. Could I get an example of a quick canned boring cycle? Thanks a lot.

Of course it spins at the bottom.G85 has feed in and feed out with no dwell.G86 has feed in, spindle stop at the bottom and rapid out.

G85 (feed in - feed out) and G89 (feed in - dwell - feed out) don't stop the spindle at the bottom of the hole. G86, G87, and G88 do. Here's one example:

    N03 G00 G40 G80 G91 G28 Z0 (SAFE START)
    T03 M06 (TOOL CHANGE)
    G54 G90 X1.0 Y1.0 S2000 M03 (POSITION X, Y & START SPINDLE)
    G43 Z0.1 H03 M08 (APPLY TOOL LENGTH COMP & COOLANT ON)
    G85 Z-1.0 R0.1 F10.0 (BORE HOLE 1" DEEP AT CURRENT X,Y)
    X2.0 Z-1.25 (BORE HOLE 1.25 DEEP AT X2.0)
    G80 M09 (COOLANT OFF)
    G91 G28 Z0 (ZERO RETURN Z)
    M01 (OP STOP)

Remember, CNC programming is like skinning a cat. There's more than one way to do it, and your machine may not use this exact programming format.

Oops, my bad. I should know better than to do ANYTHING before my first cup of coffee. Especially read, think or write. The lathe may not even have the canned cycles turned on. I'll do better...
