Fanuc 6TA keep getting ALARM 085 when sending programs to CNC

I have three machines with fanuc 6TA and I am changing them to work with the RS232 port.

I already changed the jumpers on the printed circuit board and made the cables, actually one of them worked nicely.
But the other 2 I have trouble with...

In one I keep getting alarm 085

The other one I get alarm 071

They are different machines, two of them (the ones that do not work) are mazak M5 and the one already working is a Mori Seiki SL1

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help guys!

The 085 alarm normally relates to the number of data bits or to the baud rate being used. Make sure that both the control parameter setting and the settings of the external device software are set the same (data bits, baud rate, stop bits and parity bit)

The 071 alarm relates to a program number being searched for is not found. This will occur if you were searching for a program at the control and it didn't exist in memory. If you're saying that you get this alarm when sending a program to the control, the most probable cause is that the Write Protect switch is set to on. I've seen this often, as it appears that no specific error message was created to deal with the Write Protect switch being on during a program transfer and a generic message is used.

I think you will find 085 is overrun error, this happens when the sending device does not see the software handshake (XON/XOFF) and the 100 ch buffer overflows.
Make sure the sending s/w is set for software H.S.

    Hi Al,
    Isn't that error number 087?

You must have a different manual than me, 087 shows RS232 timing 'Entering Disposition was not in time' ??
