    NL2500 or NLX2500 tool clearances

We are looking at buying a NLX2500SY but I can't find any documentation with specific turret dimensions or clearances.
The job I need to put in will have 6 double radial milling holders, 1 double axial milling holder, 1 quad turning holder, 1 double cutoff holder, 1 radial holder with facemill and 2 triple boring holders. 24 tools in total.

I need to figure out if I can use all these tools.

    Thanks for any help,
    Don

I dont have it, but your dealer would. There is a drawing for the different turret configurations in the maintenance manual.

I have been trying to get him to give me the drawings, but I keep getting the runaround.

    Thanks anyway.

That's not good, they should be forthcoming with that info. I would call mori seiki in your area, don't know if it's Chicago for you or not. Some of the dealers can be iffy. I would simply explain to them that if they can't provide something simple like that, you have no confidence in there ability to support you after the sale, and will be looking at other brands.

the 2500 has alot of tool clearance,
i know your quad holders can go next to each other
the triple bars are tough to clearance
all my radials are single so i cant help there
double cutoffs are the same as quads

your question has almost as much to do with your parts as the machine its self,

do you need the 2500 for the chuck size or bar capacity?

i just got done running a 2500 now im back down to a nl2000 with a 20 station it has 35 tools mounted

your best bet would be to call md tooling and ask them how the turret will load up

underthetire, got the drawings. It's amazing that you have to threaten to go to a competitor before they will help.

hacdlux, we were looking at the nl2000 w/ 20 station turret, but we need the capacity of the 2500 due to part size.

I just finished modeling the machine and tool holders.
It will fit, but it will be TIGHT.

    Thanks for your advice.
