    3D Map Relief

    Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had a go at this, if so, what software was used in the process and how did it all turn out. Any help would be appreciated.

VS3D can load USGS DEM (Digital Elevation Model) files, scale them, and output the G-Code to carve them. Here is one example:

Bryce can load DEM's and convert them to dxf. Just do a google for it. I think Daz3d bought the rights to it.
I have some pics on a map of where i live i cut in 2" foam on my website.

Free DEM's can be hard to find. Try here http://www.gisuser.com/content/view/607/28/

You might want to try creating your own terrains with Terragen, free for personal use.

There is a .dxf export plug-in for it here
