    Hardinge CNC lathe

Hey guys im new to this site. Im looking into purchasing a used lathe, Ive been looking at a early to mid 90's Hardinge CNC lathe with live tools. Don't remember the model # off the top of my head. Anyways, has anyone had any experience with these machines. I have a few old Hardinge hand screw machines that work great, just not sure how there CNC stuff is. Any info would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Mark

Any other suggestion on a different lathe would be nice also. This is what im looking for. atleast 1-3/4" thru spindle capacity, Fanuc or comparable control, live tools would be nice to have. Looking at spending 20k - 35K max. Im more of a mill guy and don't have much experience with lathes besides the CMS GT-27 I have now.

    Thanks again, Mark

I have ran a couple different hardinge CNC lathes and they are very user friendly. I think you would be very happy with it. They also seem to hold up well to crashes.

I dunno about hardinge CNC,but a Hardinge toolroom lathe will make a good machinist's knees weak.
