    Open Steady rest

Hi all, hope this is in the right spot! I have an sl-3 mori lathe that we are using to make some longer parts with. these are about 1" in dia. I've run and programmed cnc lathes before, but never been involved with a steady rest. This will be for production @ approx 100 pcs/per part. Can anyone give any advice/sources for a steady rest? TIA, and let me know if I'm in the wrong place!

Long time ago I run a CNC lathe with one of these follower rests, turning tapered gun barrels. Don't remember having many problems with it.

They are kind of proud of them, but we were doing thousands of barrels per month.
