Hello,
Can you please tell me if I can use Rutex R2020 servo drive with Fanucs 20M servomotors?
Stats for this motor are the following: 23Nm TRQ, 18 Amp, 2 phase 213V 1500RPM motor.
Thanks.
George

George,
You mentioned "2 phase 213v". Does that mean 2 phase AC volts? If so, no, the R2020 will not drive it. The R2020 is designed for DC brush motors with permanent magnets in its field.
Read the document entitled "motor and drive matching" found on the Rutex.com web site under documents.

Hello Tom,
My motors are DC with permanent magnets. They came with a Fanuc 6MB Control in a Mazak H20 .
Can the rutex be similar to the original fanuc velocity controls? giving the same torque and speed?
What is best , using a Rutex R2020 or the original fanucs with pixies?
I forgot to tell you that I will use Mach3.
Thanks,
George
George,
I'd use the pixie's. I am out of stock on the R2020's and do not have a restock date yet. Vladimir is working on an upgrade for them.

You also need to make sure your motor has a tach (some of the 20's do, some do not). The motors that do not rely on a F/V converter on the mother board to produce the tach signal for the velocity control unit.
The size 20 motor would push the capability of the Rutex R2020 and would probably require a resistor in series with the armature. These are 8 brush motors with about a 12" dia. by 24" long.

No, this servo motors do not have tachometers, under the cap there is only a 2000 ppr pulse coder.
Please tell me if I am wrong, I read in other thread that you could wire directly a 6V@1000 rpm tach. to the servo amp.
My Motors are 16.5" long by 6.5" dia., are painted white, but I know that they are Model 20M because it is on the manual. But the manual also say that the servo motor on the rotary table is model 5M or 20M, but in reality is model 10M; I know this because the servo motor is not painted.
George
16.5" x 6.5" sounds more like a 10M.
What color is the cap on the back of the motor, and also, is there not a nameplate (perhaps covered in paint you could scratch off?)
AL, I want to use the original fanuc amps. In other thread I saw that you can add a 6V@1000 rpm tach. and wire it straight to the Fanuc servo velocity control.
Am I right?
If I can not use the original amps, then what would be my best option ($$$).
KTP: I will try to see if I can take the paint off the servo motors. But I have a 10M servo motor in the 4 axis, and it is smaller than the ones in the other axis.
George
What Fanuc drives do you currently have? Some do not have Tach feedback.

Al,
The axis drives are A20B 0009 0320 100 (X Axis)
A20B 0009 0320 07C (Y Axis)
A20B 0009 0320 16E (Z Axis)
A20B 0009 0320 07C (4 Axis)
The mother board is A20B 0008 0410 080
I took the pictures with my cel. phone, If they are not clear , I will bring my camera tomorrow.
I could scratch off the paint , and it say 20M in the servo motors. I also scan the page from the manual I have.
The pictures of the 20M servo motor is the X Axis and the pictures of the 10M are from the 4 Axis, also I took a picture of the mother board and a close up of the F/V chips ( A-PC06).
Thanks,
George.
Hello,
Where I can buy one of these A20B 0009 0320 07C (Y Axis)?
