In the shop we have 2 large v-tec machines both with fanuc controllers on the older one about 4yrs old or so i can hit FN2 and Manual enable and release the tool or insert the tool and close the clamp,

on the new machine the funstion doesnt work? so i have to put it in handle hot the door release pull the key hit the foot pedal and insert the tool, foot pedal, insert key and hit the reset total pain in the ass compared to putting it in handle and pressing 2 buttons at once.

and when your ATC cant hold the size tools i use i do alot of changes. so does anyone know how to make this function available?

sounds like a door interlock 'feature'
unfortunately due to losers hurting themselves because they were useless at their job manufacturers were forced to add interlocks to protect the operators from themselves and therefore reduce legal liability.
