Any ballparks on reasonable feed/speed and DOC for carbide tooling say 3/8 and 1/4 endmills cutting 12L14 and 1018?
SFM for mild steel 100-120, stainless 40-50.
these numbers are for HSS Cutters, for Carbide use a factor of 3.
Just plug and pay in the wizzard on that one tab

Looks that most of these charts display different numbers. Most tooling companies have these charts to show what that tool can be ran at, if I remember correctly. So maybe this is why there are so many different SFM charts ?
I find that the results from G-Wizard are usually right-on. It has a lot of other useful info such as drilling feeds and speeds and much more.

I have been looking online for a month.
Q Wizzard calculator does not function on the Mac version that I have, so I cannot use it.
I built my own CNC machine that has a top speed of about 1 inch per minute of movement.
Top RPM of 2200.
Given those numbers, what is the correct RPM and Feed rate for cutting steel?
Surface feet per minute mean.. nothing to me. I don't know why that is a variable.
I can control RPM and feed rate only.
My bit is a .25" 4 flute Cobolt
please help?
