    Matsuura Mc500v

I have 2 matsuura Mc500v milling machines. one is 1985 and one is 1986.
Problem I have recently come across with the 1985 one is that when the x axis rapids, there is a noise as if something is not aligned with the motor and ballscrew causing the table to shake. best I can liken the vibration to is when your car tire is out of balance. when you drive down the highway at a higher speed you get more vibration. I took the machine apart and found no obstructions. and all appears to be ok. yet the vibration is still there. The machine was running just fine, one day the noise appeared a couple times during the day, but went away. now the noise is almost permanent. The ways are oiled. and we checked out the brushes. has anyone experienced this and how did it get repaired?? thank you for your help.

    Matsuura vibrations

Matsuura used both Yasnac and Fanuc controls back then. If you have Fanuc CNC and drives, you could have some looseness between the motor armature and the encoder due to coupling wear.
On a Fanuc motor, just remove the encoder, (don't spin it or you might move your marker location), and put a few burrs on the coupling to tighten the fit. If that helps, you might want to buy a new coupling. This procedure might fix it for several years however.

What did you find wrong with your machine?

    Thanks
