    Gecko G540

    Hello

My question is for all the Gecko users. I want to use the G540 stepper drive and the source of step and direction is a ControlLogix PLC.

    1.Would a 48V, 10A power supply be good enough for the G540.
2.I am not using a Mach3, so can I can give the step and direction signals directly to the terminals 2 to 9 at the DB25 parallel port at G540.
3.What exactly is fault mode that is mentioned in the setup guide.
4.What are the maximum no. of connections that can be made at a particular terminal

I can answer the first question. Power supply for the G540 has to be between +18V and +50V DC and a current rating of 2/3 times total current rating of stepper motors with max of 3.5A per motor. Your power supply works and can handle four 3.5A motors. Pick motors with a winding inductance of 2.5 to 3.0 mH per phase for maximum speed.
