ACME screw from and old garage door?

I'm in the early stage of building my own gantry CNC router. I noticed that the lead screws are not cheap. I have an old garage door opener that has a long acme lead screw.

Do any of you see an issue with using a garage door lead screw in a gantry CNC router?

If you really can't afford some screws from McMaster, I suppose you could try it. Issues would be the precision of the threads, if the threads are worn, if they're worn differently in different locations, does it have a nut on it, how much backlash is there, if there's too much backlash can you get a new antibacklash nut to fit it, is the pitch something that's suitable for your machine design, etc.
