I shut down the machine last night with the probe in the spindle. Now it won't let me toolchange because I haven't done the spindle orientation.
It's in a mazak vtc200 with a fusion 640m controler. Can anyone help me out of this situation?

Don't know if this will help.
On an M32 control.
Renumber the spindle tool to zero.
Command m19 for spindle orient.
Renumber spindle tool to probe tool number.
CHECK FOR CLEARANCE BEFORE M19! Do not damage the probe's pickup arm.
If no clearance, TOOL UNCLAMP OK button can be found under one of the maintenance buttons, not sure which one for I'm not at work.
Hold on to probe before pressing button.
Release tool, then command m19
Glad to help a friend from Down Under.
Good luck!
Thanks Nitro, this is certainly what the Mazak tech did last time this happened but I didn't see how he renumbered the spindle tool, I think he pushed a 3 button combination to open extra menus? Does this sound right to anyone?
To change the tool number in spindle on a Fusion, just got to MDI (there's no 'extra menus' to go to). Press the far right menu button on the monitor until you see "Sp. Tool No. Set" show up on the softkeys. Press the softkey to highlight and type in a "0", then input. Your spindle tool number is now zero as shown on the Position page.
Do an M19 spindle orient and then change to tool number in the spindle back to your probe tool number. You may get an "Illegal MMS" alarm at that point but you should be able to just hit reset and it will clear.
I wouldn't think you'll need to 'check clearance' for a probe arm unless you're using an MP3 probe body on a Fusion for some reason. But, if you do have an inductive pickup arm, it may be safer to just remove the tool by using Tool Unclamp OK button to release the probe before orienting the spindle as Nitro mentioned. (It's under the Maintenance menu as he says... I believe it's in the ATC menu).
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
On an M32:
Place in an auto mode.
Press menu select (far right button just below screen) 2 times.
Press SP. TOOL NO. SET button, enter tool number.
Verify on either position or command page.
TOOL UNCLAMP OK? button is under ATC MENU button.
Good luck!
